I use the Software "OptimusMiniUsageSample" to connect to the OptimusMiniThree device.

When I run the SW, sometimes the device can not be connected.
But, the condtion
if( gle == ERROR_SUCCESS && m_objPort.Open( (LPSTR)szValueData ) )
in function COptimusMini::Open() succeeds.


Question:
Why does it happen that the port is opened, but the device can not connect?

And here we are, March 2009, and still no Linux support from Art Lebedev Studio...

OpenOptimus is moribund. I tried the code back in 2007 and it showed some spark of promise, but coming back to it tonight, I couldn't get it to compile on Ubuntu 64-bit.

Looks like this OM3 is doomed to stay in my cube at the office, and I'll not be buying the other three for my home workstation, for the media player, or the MacBook. :-(

Such a neat idea, let down by lack of support.

Definitely stops me from buying the Optimus Maximus, now. I could probably have placed three of those in my company, for the translation group. :-(

My mini 3 is cool but I configure it so I have my graphics and hotkeys. The ramdomly disappear. Not all but some do or they change. I am using a Mac dual quad core 2.8 ghz with 6 gigs of ram running Mac OS X Leopard newest version. I have the newest version from the mini 3 website. Please help with the problem.

I have checked the preferences and researched options of controlling the usb ports separately and I can't find anything. I do know that when my iPhone is plugged into the computer it will sleep but as soon as my computer turns on my iPhone does aswell. This tells me it isn't a problem with the usb port.

Also, sometimes I have to unplug and plug in the keyboard 2 or 3 times. It has behaved this way from the time i first turned it on (2 weeks ago).

Just unpacked your product. Installed the configurator and plugged in the device. Product seems to be working perfectly but I can't locate the configurator app on my HD. Where does the installer put the software?

I do also encounter this problem. I use Mac OS X 10.5.6 with latest software updates and the beta 0.72 version of Configurator. Every time that the illumination of the device is turned off (currently after 5 min), it doesn't get back to life when using the computer again. Re-connecting the USB cable solves the problem.

Note that the idle-mode is disbaled (set to 'never'), only the illumination is turned off after 5 min.

Anyone else encountering this on Mac? Solutions?

I am rather pleased with my om3. I use it flawlessly with my Vista 64 Ultimate everyday.

I use a logitech di Novo edge for main keyboard.

Now, as per the thread title suggestions for the tactus keyboard I love the idea....of having a programmable touch screen for keyboard...just the thing is it needs to have a few features:

1- Bluetooth wifi this is a must...regardless of how much power is required of the led panels~!!!

2- touch cursor pad-like laptop mouse pads- this goes hand n hand with wifi keyboard.

3- touch sensitive slider for volume as well as any other thing keyboard programmable.

4- zoom in & out keyboard programmability

yeah its not just dimmer, its unevenly lit with a refresh line and different brightness levels on different pixels, the other two are fine.

When do you purchased the OM3? It may be covered by warranty. However, are you able to repair it yourself? If yes, send a mail to the technical department with your bill and ask for a new display.
